Pomeranian Barking Issues
Understanding Your Pomeranian's Bark
A Pomeranian's bark is their voice. It is the way
in which your dog will ask for something or warn you
if he feels something may be a potential threat.
Your Pomeranian's bark may also be akin to a baby
crying. If you do not have their barking under
control, after a while you may feel as if you want
to rip your ears off!
Pomeranian's are excellent learners. They aim to
please their owner. Training your Pomeranian to
stop barking when it is not wanted, will require
some time and patience from you. Your Pomeranian
Puppy is already primed to learn any barking rules.
Why Your Pomeranian Barks:
Protecting You:
Why does a Pomeranian bark? It may surprise
you. Don't let their size fool you! Because they are
weary of strangers, Pomeranians make
excellent watchdogs and you will hear your this
barking to alert you to anything
unusual. Pomeranians are very alert to what is
happening and this dog is very alert to his or her
surroundings. Believing they are much larger than
they are, a Pomeranian will bark to protect
the people they love. As with any dog, you may wish
to understand the different reasons why your dog
barks and then you can begin to take steps to stop
the barking.
Self Protection:
One reason why a Pomeranian barks is self
protection. A Pomeranian may also guard their toys
and food bowls. Make your Pomeranian feel safe and
secure that no one is going to take their food and
toys. Put their dish in a quiet corner and do not
bother your dog while they eat. Do not allow people
to rush around the dog or yell while the dog is
eating. If your Pomeranian sees or hears loud
commotions while eating, they may feel they are in a
rush. Each meal should be a peaceful event.
Boredom:
Another reason why a Pomeranian barks is boredom.
Pomeranian puppy’s may bark incessantly if they are
not socialized at a young age and if they are not
supplied with a variety of dog toys. Giving your
Pomeranian lots of different toys is not spoiling
them. This is the best method to stop Pomeranian
barking is to have a variety of different. You
should try to search around for interesting toys
that are interactive and fun. You should give
your Pomeranian more than those boring standard chew
toys. Your Pomeranian is like a child. He or she
needs stimulation from exercise, playing and time
spent the adult who loves them.
Excitement:
The reason why your Pomeranian barks may be
excitement. Dogs will get overly excited when you
arrive home and this can lead to crazy barking and
even accidental elimination or urination. Even
a Pomeranian that is house trained may exhibit
excitement urination when greeting you. It usually
occurs in puppies and your Pomeranian is not
probably not even aware that he is urinating. As
your puppy matures and develops bladder control, the
problem will usually disappear. Your Pomeranian is
so excited to see you, he or she will bark up a
storm.
